Taste of Nebraska is Oct. 8 at Lounge 201 on Capitol Hill

Nebraska Society Members and Friends,

Your favorite event is back!  The Nebraska Society of Washington, D.C., is pleased to announce the return of the Taste of Nebraska, a celebration of Nebraska football, food and hospitality!

The event will be held on Thursday, October 8, from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Lounge 201 on Capitol Hill.

Enjoy Runza sandwiches, Valentino's Pizza, hors d'ouvres and other great food.  And from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Lounge 201 will serve an open bar with beer, wine, cocktails and champagne.

Then, watch the Nebraska Cornhuskers face the Missouri Tigers on ESPN starting at 9 p.m. at Lounge 201 or nearby Husker hangout Union Pub.

Maine State Society Asks Other State Soceities: Please Save Dec. 12, 2009

 The Maine State Society will once again help organize the placement of 15,000 Christmas wreaths on graves at Arlington National Cemetery  on Saturday morning, Dec.12, 2009.  Many volunteers will be needed and all state societies are invited to participate as part of Wreaths Across America.  The wreaths are donated by a Worcester Wreath Company of Harrington, Maine.  Please click on the Maine State flag at left for more details as the date approaches.  Last year, the Illinois, Hawaii, and other state societies sent volunteers and so many volunteers from veterans groups and the Civil Air Patrol showed up that the job was done in no time.
